"The Days Gone Past" is a photographic exploration of nostalgia, memory, and identity, blending documentary portraits with fashion imagery. Inspired by family photo albums—a common treasure in Chinese households—I reflect on personal and collective memories through four chapters: Hometown, On the Road, The Stranger, and Farewell.
The project begins with a personal perspective, revisiting my grandparents' stories, summer memories, and the cultural scenes that shaped my upbringing. It transitions to capturing the restless spirit of youth and the longing for belonging, exploring how identity evolves across different cultures and geographies. The final chapter stages these reflections through collaborative work, weaving documentary and fashion to evoke emotional resonance and shared memory.
This work is both personal and universal. It reflects on the beauty and weight of the past, offering viewers a space to rediscover themselves in the images and memories of others. Through nostalgia, it seeks to understand the present, celebrate cultural diversity, and bid farewell to moments that define who we are.
