Black Boy America was a series focused around the question of what it means to be a young Black American in recent years. This project was prompted out of an Interview I had with CULTURED Magazine asking what I was doing as a photographer for the 4th of July. I began to think about complex relationship I had with the US and its political climate. Conversations with friends around the topic begged the questions: What does the American flag symbolize today? What is our future? What does it mean to be a Black boy in America?
