Jesse Clark is Haitian-Born conceptual artist and photographer who explores the intersection between
storytelling and soft activism. He is best known for his work exploring Black identity. He grew up in
Lakeland, Florida, launching his arts education in Visual Arts at Harrison School for the Arts and later
received his B.F.A. in Photography and Imaging from Ringling College of Art + Design in 2023.
Influenced by his background in ballet, his work weaves together performance and possibility, utilizing
elements like color, styling, space and gesture to create a dialogue between identity and agency. Whether
expressed through canvas or the camera, his practice is less about simply constructing images and more
about holding a visual space that honors and elevates its subjects, contributing to a more inclusive and
authentic representation of their narratives.
