Urbanite

The series "Urbanite" show the conflicting relationship between nature and cultivated life in surreal fashion. Astrid Verhoef focuses on the identity of the urban individual by placing it outside it’s trusted environment, visiualizing its stressed and sometimes incompetent,relationship with nature. With this series Astrid was awarded GUP New Dutch Talent, won Silver at the New York Photo Festival 2014 and recieved the International Color Award in 2016. Urbanite was also part of Head On Photo Festival in Sydney in 2016.
