ABOUT THE SERIE ‘MADARDUNIA – BANGLADESH’ For the second time Marie-Stella-Maris and GUP Magazine invited a photographer to visit one of her clean drinking water projects abroad. Ernst Coppejans visited the Madarbunia village in Bangladesh where for the project ‘Water for Pathuakhali’ 14 Deep Tube Wells will be placed to structurally provide 2.500 people with access to clean drinking water. The portrait series is called ‘Madarbunia – Bangladesh’.
“Despite the extreme poverty this village is quite amazing. Everything revolves around a dike which is the main street where one meets everybody, where everything happens. The series has become a portrait of the village in which the beauty of the inhabitants and their surrounding play a leading role” - Ernst Coppejans.
The series was exhibited in a solo exhibition at The Ravestijn Gallery and at Fotofestival Naarden.
