I’ve always struggled with sleep. As a kid, I was terrified of the dark, the kind of fear that made every shadow feel alive and every night bring another nightmare.
Growing up, something shifted. Instead of running from the dark, I started leaning into it. I found comfort in goth and metal music, in horror movies, in the aesthetics and spaces that once scared me. What used to feel threatening slowly became familiar, even safe.
This series reimagines the nightmares I had as a child, but now the roles have changed. I’m no longer powerless inside them. I have control over these characters and the worlds they exist in. It’s about reclaiming those fears, and finding comfort in the dark.
