Every year during the “Day of the Dead” festivity in Mexico, over 1,230 acres of the endemic flower “Cempasuchil and Terciopelo” are produced in Atlixco, Puebla. Complete families from Atlixco, from children to the elderly, are in charge of planting, harvesting, cutting, and selling the flowers to supply the entire country for the festivity. These families are the people who ensure that during Mexico's most important festivity, the Day of the Dead, the country is filled with flowers and folklore that highlight Mexican culture.
