The Lake District National Park in the north west of England has bid for and is hosting UNESCO representatives in the park's bid for World Heritage Site certification.
I have set out to challenge the typical landscape and schmaltzy fudge-box cliched images so oft' associated with the national park; I somehow doubt these black and white images will make it into the park's bid literature.
Some 45,000 people work within the park, which is approximately 38 x 32 miles in size and hosts up to 16 million visitors each year.
