Every day since 01 January 2020, I've taken a photograph through one window at one scene, pretty much with one lens looking south-west over the rooftops of the small market town of Keswick in the Lake District National Park, England, out to the fells / mountains beyond.
Bearing in mind that the shortest day, 21 July, sunrise is just after 04:30 in the morning, this did become rather an onerous task at times.
It seemed appropriate just to confine this project to the morning, & just the one window, although I could've added many atmospheric pictures from the sunset but somehow the morning seemed a better choice.
Oddly, when we first went into lockdown I thought people would object to this project as it would remind many of what they were missing, mountains, sun, snow, leisure, rain, lakes, holidays, but the response on social media was precisely the opposite.
This project is not trying to reinvent, redefine beauty, landscape, the picturesque, it is a daily process by which I / we take note of one view, each day, and just enjoy it for what it is without looking to attach any special significance to either the process nor of the end result.
I have been told how much people have enjoyed seeing these daily photographs from this window, and that's good enough.
