"THE liquor store OF EMOTION" is an artwork created based on an understanding of consumer society, using animals as its motif.
I created a pop-up store that resembles a shop selling scented sake. Within this space, there are aquariums and Japanese sake bottles.
While the flavors of the regularly sold sake are clear, the tastes of the two "sakes" placed in the aquariums, which I want to sell this time, are uncertain. People looking at all the showcase environments, including the aquariums placed in the pop-up store, are encouraged to use their own imagination to envision a special bottle of sake based on the scents they have imagined. It becomes evident that each person's impressions differ, and the perceived tastes are distinct.
Understanding the specific consumption situation as "creators as sellers and viewers as consumers," in the act of consumption, the actions taken by the seller are intended to guide the consumer to make a purchase.
In a sense, in this artwork, all the intentional interventions by the creator are meant to guide the viewer to consciously observe.
