Truth is a series of camera-less instant film photograms. These works are photograms of dirt, water, and leaves from my Country made on Gubbi Gubbi land. These pieces are presented in a salon-style hang to mimic the style of home installations. Aiming to normalise the correct narrative of colonisation rather than the whitewashed settler narratives. The prints encapsulate truth telling about dispersal using the stories held within Country. The trace and evidence of the water, dirt, and leaves both are held on the surface and in the exposure of the film. In the process of making these pieces, the small parts of Country I have dwindled much like my connection to country has been. Doing these truth telling pieces allowed me to connect back spiritually without having to return. I used a camera-less photographic process to disrupt the structure of colonial ideas of photography. (This is a work in progress, I am hoping to add another 30-50 pieces)
