The series MORI (Japanese for forest) was created from 2012 to 2017 and consists of around 20 images. My first inspiration came from the sumi-e, the traditional ink-wash paintings. When I have made the first steps for the series I was stunned by the wilderness of the Japanese mountain side. As I was not interested in landscape photography I was looking for different way of expression. Finally I have worked with large format analogue camera and tried to catch that miraculous forest. I used to travel to Japan always in spring season and have spent several days in the mountain side to find spots for the MORI. These weeks were highly inspirational and an energetic experience.
