Floating

When I come to the Dead Sea I feel like the stalker from Andrei Tarkovsky's movie. The Dead Sea is my 'Zone'. I come here every week with family, friends or just alone. I just feel that some kind of force is pushing me to these salty shores. This is my second project about the Dead Sea but this time I decided to remove any possible visual distractions and filmed in black and white. Beautiful colors of the Dead Sea are drawing us away and distract and I wanted to capture those invisible bonds which tire us to this place for centuries. Like taking a net to catch a golden fish from Russian fairytales, I took my camera to this vanishing strip of salty water. I hope that Ezekiel prophecy will come true and the tormented and frazzled sea will get fresh water again and will not disappear.
