Marina Black is a Canadian photographer whose work merges her background in history and painting with staged photography to explore memory, cultural inheritance, and the blurred boundaries between fiction and reality. She creates intimate, theatrical portraits that draw on Baroque and Renaissance traditions while remaining deeply contemporary. Black holds an MFA from York University. Her photographs have been published in several books and are held in public collections in the USA, Canada, and Ukraine. She has been a featured exhibitor at FOTOFEST Houston and CONTACT Toronto, and is represented by Galerie VU' [France] and Lumina Gallery [Norway].
