About Lucia Jost

Lucia Jost (b. 1998) is a portrait and documentary photographer from Berlin. She studied photography at the Lette Verein Berlin, graduating in 2022, and has been working freelance in the fields of portrait and reportage photography since.

In her photographic practice, Lucia explores female realities, Berlin subcultures, and everyday intimacy. Working primarily with analogue photography, she weaves a documentary visual language together with staged portraits, seeking to portray a caring and intimate image of female communities around the world.
She often explores themes of sexuality and belonging, portraying how urban spaces shape identity and emotional experience.

Her long-term projects tell of the emotional realities of her generation: the search for closeness and the social changes of our time. She aims to create images that are poetic and, at the same time, politically resonant.

Her work has been published in Magazines like: Vogue Germany, Les Inrockuptibles, VICE, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Marie Claire Korea, and Zeit Magazine.
