About Kirill Muniabin

Kirill was born in 1978 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He got engineering degree in 2001 and holds a PhD in technical sciences. Kirill worked for more than 15 years in a field far from art. He has been interested in photography since childhood. In 2022, he decided to devote himself to artistic activity. In 2024, he studied at the School of New Photography, after which he decided to focus exclusively on art photography.

Kirill participated in group exhibitions and also became a finalist and winner of several international competitions, including Critical Mass Top 50 2025 and IPFA Award 2025. He works at the intersection of the post-documentary approach and the performative practice. Kirill's projects are based on real biographies and memories of people, the insecurity and loneliness that exist within everyday life. His works aim for recognition and silence, a state in which personal history becomes a shared experience.
