Dimitri Mellos

Dimitri Mellos was born in Athens, Greece. Since 2005 he has been based in New York City. He is a largely self-taught photographer. He mainly works on long-term, self-initiated projects. His work has been exhibited in New York, London, Canberra, Miami, San Francisco, Berlin, Athens, Barcelona, and elsewhere. He has received multiple awards for his work, including being a Finalist for the Fotovisura Grant and the Magnum Expression Award, and three times a Finalist for the Renaissance Photography Prize. He was also honored as a Juror’s Pick at the 2016 Magnum Photography Awards and a 1st place winner in the Pollux awards. Recently, his work was featured in the anthology Masters of Street Photography (Ammonite Press, 2019).
