A doctor is taking care of the American mixed martial art athlete Cody McKenzie’s injuries he got during a match that took place on 14th October 2017 in Milan, Italy. If the injuries are serious, the doctor will stop the match. All contestants must complete a pre-licensure medical examination.

The Italian mixed martial athlete Giorgio Pietrini fights against the Spanish Eulogio Fernandez. In Italy, MMA matches last for 5 rounds and they take place in a caged MMA ring of around 50 m2. Every MMA round lasts maximum five minutes, followed by a one-minute rest period.

Unguent, oil, and blunt objects are forbidden. Before the fight, the cutman applies vaseline on the athletes, to prevent tears and friction.

Mothers, girlfriends, and wives are great supporters of the MMA athletes. MMA has never been exclusively for males; the Italian association wants to increase the number of women and is promoting women's fights in Venator.

The MMA stars night in Milan took place at the Teatro Principe, where director LuchinoVisconti filmed “Rocco e i suoi fratelli”. After several years of being closed, the theatre opened again in 2015. Venator Fighting Championship started in the same year.
