Photography is my refuge. At a very young age my father was disappointed when I took up photography seriously and decided to make it both my vocation and my avocation. Fortunately, I was able to make a living without having to rely on photography for income, and consequently found the freedom and make the time to mostly photograph as a passion and as a pleasure.
Whenever I need to escape whether for a few hours or a few weeks, I simply pick up my camera and get lost in the hunt for images, and then in the editing and processing of these images, where I get to revisit the places and scenes, and discover details I might not have initially seen, but which my subconscious eye did.
I am not a winter person and my birthday in late January is among the coldest days of the year where I live in New York City. Whenever I can, I try to escape for at least a few days to somewhere warmer. This year I made a trip to Guanajuato in Central Mexico. These photos I am sharing are from this very week in Late January.
